The North American Model Engineering Society  (N.A.M.E.S.) held its annual convention at the Seagate Convention Centre in Toledo Ohio during the weekend of April 22-23, 2006.  At least one member of the Division was in attendance with others indicating that they had attended the convention in prior years.  The center of the hall featured a large circle of track with a couple of engines pulling ride-able cars.   The interior of the track circle was intended to hold vendors and exhibitors of large scale rail products.    I only took a few shots:

Sorry to say that I don't have any additional information.  All of the models on display were works of art but the rail gun was amazing - I've never seen brass polished to that degree.  As soon as a crowd gathered to admire the "static" display, the owner hit a button and gears and shafts began to change the barrel's elevation.  In the center picture, the white structure behind the engine is a 30 foot boat - one heck of a model!
