We held our first Training Day in 2009.  The basic idea was to have the Module Group set up and other Division members provide demonstrations and discussion.  Advertising was limited since it was the event's "shakedown cruise", with St. Christopher's parishioners being our initial visitors after the morning service.  The primary focus was aimed at children - either an introduction to the hobby, or to provide an awareness of new levels (beyond our hobby's own patron saint - Thomas!)  That concept was very successful but the event also drew the interest of adults.  The presenters of the demonstrations were among our best modelers and brought attention from everybody - including seasoned modelers.

For 2010, we're planning to keep what worked in 2009 (which was pretty much everything) and add a few features.    We're looking to add a food vendor if possible.  We may have formal presentations to augment the informal table side clinics - a speaker from Operation Lifesaver is being considered (they gave us literature for 2009).

Hope to see you there!
